Explaining population changes

GNI PPP

IMR

Given a table like

Over the years the percentage of people aged between 15 and 65 has been reducing. This is the most productive group in the population, thus a reduction of this nature would reduce the economic growth of the country. The country would likely experience a shortage of skilled workers in major sectors of the economy. The government should take steps to increase the population of people aged between 15 and 65, by encouraging immigration and spurring birth rates. When there is a lower number of people in this age group, there is likely to be a high dependency. The government would promise free education and healthcare for up to 4 children. It would also involve sensitizing the public on the importance of population increase for the country.

The IMR has increased for the period 1995 to 2020. This is likely to reduce the population growth rate of the country. There are more deaths of infants, maybe because of the poor healthcare system. The increase in IMR would be an indicator of an increase in malnutrition and other factors that would make the infants vulnerable. The government should reduce IMR by improving prenatal and postnatal care for mothers. They should encourage companies to provide comfortable leaves for expecting parents to ensure their health is good during childbirth.

The TFR of this population has been decreasing gradually over the years. Such a reduction would adversely affect the number of newborn babies in the population. Dietary changes would increase the fertility of couples in the country

There is an improvement in the population. The GNIPPP has increased over the years. This increase shows that there are more people with enough disposable income. There should be an improvement in the living standards as well as the quality of life for the population. When there is a higher GNI PPP, different industries also see growth.

The employment per sector has reduced over the years. TR sector has seen an increase over the same period while PR and SE have seen a decline. Growth in one sector only does not provide the country with economic stability. Reduction in employment in the two major sectors would increase the rate of unemployment. However, the general economy would appear to be growing.

The output per economic sector has generally reduced. TR has however shown an increase in output over the years. The reduction in other sectors seems to be compensated by this sector. The government should provide incentives to the sectors to increase the output. This may be through reducing corporate taxes. The government should also look at issues that affect these sectors.

The Emissions per capita have also reduced over the years. It is good news for the country as more people depend on greener sources of energy. This would also allow the country to claim more benefits internationally for contributing to a greener world. It also reduces the economic burden on the country due to high emissions.

The energy per capita has generally been flat. There are a slight increase and a reduction in the figures posted for the period. We can see that the energy usage for the year 2020 is closer to that of 1995, this shows that the population is using energy-efficient appliances and equipment.

There has been a decline in the emissions per capita of carbon equivalents. This shows that the country has shifted to greener sources of energy. The government should encourage cheaper sources of green energy, to encourage growth in sectors that are dependent on energy like manufacturing. A reduction in carbon emissions should be enhanced, there should be fewer health complications as a result of the side effects of carbon. Healthy people should allow proper economic stability and growth due to the high productivity of the population.

The increase in energy consumption is slow for the period. There should be more manufacturing firms being set up. The society represented by the data provided must allow more factories to set up to consume more power. So long as there is enough production, society must ensure they get value for their energy produced because more manufacturing firms would allow economic growth due to an increased number of people who would be employed.

An increase in the uptake of energy by the society would also increase consumption hence economic growth. Goods produced by more factories that would set up shop would be exported, thus earning the country foreign exchange.

There is an increase in expenditure on health. This requires an increase in resources which lowers the resources that would go to infrastructure. However, it improves the living standards of the population which would ultimately stimulate the growth of the economy in the long run. The doctor to patient ratio has remained constant over the period, this would mean that there are enough doctors to treat the population throughout the period. There are enough doctors to treat the population, leading to high productivity and creativity. When people are physically, emotionally, and mentally healthy, this would lead to high-quality services and goods being produced by the population. Additionally, people do not waste time looking for much-needed healthcare, thus becoming more productive.

The teacher to student ratio has reduced, meaning that there are always enough teachers to teach. The lower ratio indicates that the students get a high-quality education. A good education would allow the economy to grow due to the availability of a highly skilled labor force necessary for economic growth. The education sector is critical for the economy because

When the economy is doing well as in the case for the most recent period in the data, we see that there is an improvement in the quality of life. When the government revenue is high, it has enough to spend on improving the health care and education sectors.

At the same time, the increase in quality of life due to the improvement of education and healthcare leads to an increase in productivity. A healthy population should be more productive. A more educated population would provide the necessary skills to improve the economy, especially in high-income sectors like technology. Education that concentrates on innovation, would positively impact the country.

The society represented by the data provided is a sustainable one. Some sectors are seeing growth. The quality of life is improving and the economy is also doing well. There is sustainable energy consumption that is greener each year. Greener sources of energy indicated by the fewer emissions of carbon mean that this society is likely to spend less on treating respiratory illnesses.

From the data, we can see that all the major indicators of quality of life are present. I don’t see the data on life expectancy, which is critical when assessing the quality of life. Without knowing the life expectancy of the population, it would be difficult to prove the effect of an increase in the expenditure on health.

Other data such as levels of education, would also indicate the effect of the lower teacher to student ratio on the economic and social standards of the population. For instance, if we are to see an increase in the number of professionals graduating from higher education institutions, this would truly indicate value for money spent on the education sector.

Additional data on the health records of this society would indicate whether or not the investment in healthcare is bearing any fruits. If we are to see that there is still a high number of respiratory illnesses, this would allow the authorities to assess the effectiveness of their measures.

I would need more data on the dependency ratio and unemployment rates for this society. The dependency ratio would indicate whether the working population is fatigued while providing for the non-working population. Low overall unemployment rate is a good indicator of the high quality of life.
